SNEHA VIDYA VIHAR:
SNEHA started this school at Bijoypur village, Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh in July 2007. Chakma language emerged from Pali, Prakrit and Sanskrit belongs to Indo-Aryan group. There are also Arakanese words in Chakma. Hence, SNEHA in Chakma means compassion; VIDYA means education and in Buddhism Temple is called Vihar. Therefore, SNEHA Vidya Vihar means SNEHA Temple of Learning. The school is still not a formal school, yet we have been running like a formal school. The school is running from class I-V and 200 students are studying from 5-12 years of age. But we are in the process of making it a formal school by getting it recognized under the Government of Arunachal Pradesh Currently this school is funded by Shamdasani Foundation, Mumbai. Future Plan: To change the school into a formal school and recognize under the government of Arunachal Pradesh and upgrade upto class XII and affiliate under CBSE, Delhi in future.
